About Us
Set deep in the countryside of Bethany, Connecticut; Kodiak Acres prides itself in our Newfoundland Dogs.
Whether it is in the show ring, training for water rescue, working with draft carts and sleds, or playing with our grandchildren, our Newfoundlands posses all the qualities attributed to this breed.
We have produced multiple Top Twenty Newfoundlands, received awards at the NCA National (including People’s Choice, AOM/Select, Winner’s Bitch, Best in Sweeps), BIS, BISS, Group Winning & Group Placing.
We have been an active members of the Newfoundland Club of American and multiple Regional Clubs since 1997. Keith served on the NCNE board of directors for 16 years and was Working Dog Secretary for 9 years. Sheila served as NCNE secretary and Rescue Chair.
Keith has earned many titles on his dogs and is a skilled and knowledgeable handler/trainer, instructor and mentor level Water and Draft Test Judge.
Sheila spent many years doing therapy work (TDI) with her dogs, including the READ program
Although our children are now grown, when younger, they participated in AKC Junior Handling.
We look forward to when our grandchildren will be old enough to start attending shows with us.
In addition to our Newfoundlands, we also share our home with two cats we rescued from the local shelter, 18 chickens and 2 roosters.
